Abby Paskvan is an ordinary 16-year old teen, with an extraordinary gift. For more than a decade, Abby’s been entertaining, providing hope and sharing God’s message through song. A Southern Gospel recording artist with Chapel Valley Recording Studios, Abby is a student at Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green, Ohio. She started singing at age two and gave her first church performance at age five.
After performing at church and small community events, Abby quickly became a fan favorite and a regular “headliner” at larger venues such as Bowling Green State University athletic games, the National Tractor Pull event, Mud Hens baseball games, Walleye hockey games and many local fairs and charities. In addition to performances across Northwest Ohio, Abby sings at churches and gospel concerts throughout the United States. She is a regular performer at Christmas in the Smokies in Pigeon Forge, TN and has also performed at Dollywood, the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY, and on a Carnival Cruise to Alaska.
Abby knows that her voice and the ability to communicate so clearly through song is a gift from God. She finds peace in her work and incredible joy as others share how her songs have touched them and helped them through trying times.
Abby’s most recent CD, Psalm 92, was released in fall 2011. This is her second CD and is in collaboration with well known music producer and Southern Gospel artist, Shane Roark. Paskvan’s first release, Near to the Heart (2010), is widely being played on southern gospel music stations in Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. Abby also released a DVD Abby Paskvan Live in the Smokies in 2011.
Since releasing her CD in 2010, she is beginning to make a name for herself within the Christian Music Industry. In 2012, Abby was nominated for “Soloist of the Year” by the South East Southern Gospel Music Conference. In 2011, readers of Christian Voice magazine voted her one of the top five “Young Excelling Individuals” in Southern Gospel music. That same year, Abby won the Dayton, Ohio Teens Offering Praise competition, in its Southern Gospel division, and was one of the first recipients of the “What Would Jesus Do” award for acts of kindness to another competitor. In 2010 she was awarded the “Artist of the Day” by the Hancock County Fair Gospel Pavilion.
When Abby isn’t performing, she enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
